Noob looking for help with a Normal Map.

Hi everyone. New to the forum, let me know if i'm posting this in the wrong place. I've looked around, but i can't find any threads with my issue i'm having.

Anyway, i'm trying to bake normals onto an object in Maya. I've done this before several times with other object and it came out fine. However, this new one is rather unique, and i can't figure out what the trouble is.

The normals on my object are coming out like this:

Here's the normal Map and the UVs

NOTE: The UV and texture size is 1024/1024, i've reduced it in a screen shot so it doesn't take up a lot of room. Let me know if you need the full size version.

This is what the low poly looks like

The textures seem to be okay, i'm not getting any distortions.

This is the high poly model a friend of mine made, i build the low poly around it.

I've done just about anything i can think of, hardening the edges on the seams, upping the anti-aliasing, subdividing the low poly, adjusting the envelope cage. I even tried baking the texture in 3DS Ma. The results have always been the same. It's starting to drive me crazy and i can't find an answer anywhere. Even the Maya subreddit couldn't help.

Any help i can get, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
