Maya: Rigging a violin in some smart way?

I'm making a set of violins for some characters to play. I've found out that constraining the violin's body to the shoulder and rotating it from there, and sticking the IK wrist to the violin's neck so the arm follows is a good solution for the violin itself. Okay, so, the bow then can be stuck to the other hand, but I want to make it slide on the violin neck space. Annnd I can't really wrap my mind around how to make it stick there.

All the constraints should obviously be switchable for the animators, so the bow can come off or onto the strings if it needs to. And, everything will be on the IK arm, which simplifies my life.

This is not a realtime rig so it can have all the extra joints, locators and constraints my heart desires.

Here's the model, it helps to have something to draw on.
