IN PROGRESS: Suite.exe won't open

Hi I checked these forums and I couldn't find a solution to this issue

Everytime I run the quixel suite it doesn't launch/

I check the task manager and SUITE.EXE runs for a few seconds, then closes. Nothing else pops up.

I have tried every solution I have seen. I reinstalled photoshop. Upgraded to Photoshop CC. Uninstalled multiple times, ran CC cleaner, and Revo uninstaller.
Disabled my antivirus. Added permissions in my firewall settings. Nothing works.

If I try to run dDO seperately, it launches, then crashes. This is the x64 version.

The x86 version of Suite launches, but doesn't work with my version of photoshop.

Please help me find a solution

Same here. The only thing that seems to work is 3DO and I can only seem to open it via the exe file buried in the files. Not really been able to work on NDO/DDO stuff for about 3 months now.

Maybe this might help. I had to make the suite run in admin mode (via start icon properties). I had some crashes and thought I would put photoshop in the same mode, that didnt work for me, switching back to normal running mode worked best. So suite in admin, PS not.

I've tried everything, running it in Admin, not in Admin. PS first, Quixel first. Nothing

Still haven't found a solution, and I can't find any posts with a similar problems. This is very frustrating.

this is very strange I must say, has it always been like this? you´ve never been able to open the suite once? What version of windows are you running? Is your photoshop installed as English?
Are you installing the suite in the default location?

We´ll start with those questions and I´ll dig around a bit to see what I can find!

I was able to run suite when I purchased it. Didn't use it for about a month, tried it again 2 weeks ago, hasn't worked since.
Windows 7, all the latest updates
Photoshop is English. Originally I was using CS6 when it stopped working. I installed CC2014, still doesn't work.
Installed in the default location.

Just so we cover all the bases here, are you running the suite from a shortcut? if so could you give me the path?

Whether I run it from a shortcut or not, it makes no difference

This is the path C:\Users\Public\Quixel\SUITE\x64\bin\Release\SUITE.exe

But even running it from the directory does the same thing

Could you try to update/repair the .net framework, and make sure you´re running the latest Java,
if that doesn´t work could you post a screenshot of the error?

I tried re-installing the .net framework, and I have the latest version of java

As I said, I don't get an error message. All that happens when I try to run it is it runs in the task manager for a few seconds, then dissapears. Nothing else pops up.

Sorry, guys. I had the same problems fiew hours ago. Suite closes after a few seconds without any messages. Reinstalling of Photoshop, Suite, C++ Runtime, Framework, Java hasn't gave me any changes. So I've reinstalled my Windows 8.1.

I've just installed video drivers, Photoshop CC and Quixel Suite and it works fine.

Before that I've got some trojan on my OS and after I've cured it, Suite was stoped working. I don't know is this a reason.

May I ask, did you by any chance do a reg-clean on your system? Using regedit or something similar?
We´ve gotten a few reports lately that Regedit might make The Suite stop working, could that be the case for you? Big thanks for this report!

I've downloaded the latest version from that thread, still the same issue. I don't believe I've done anything to the registry

What program did you use to get rid of the trojan on your system? We´ve had similar problems that you describe after running software that delete things from the registry, for instance regcleaner.

Right now actually I am experiencing this exact same thing. What happened was there was a power outage. Everything else is working. Tried to uninstall and reinstall photoshop and quixel suite. Restart computer several times. But  quixel pops up for a second and then disappears. Photoshop and all other apps are OK. Obviously something happened to my registery or something.

What could have happend to my registry and how do I repair it?

Reinstall to a new directory, like *\Quixel SUITE 2.2\ instead of the default. That should clear this up for you.
