Business Card High Poly Sculpt

Hey there everyone. So I wanted to do something a little bit fun this year with my business card. I've been trying to get the hang of doing a more stylized sculpting method, and then translating that over into a hand painted style, so I thought I'd take an opportunity to hone my skills with this little project.

Any C'n'C is welcome. I realize this whole things a bit ridiculous for a BUSINESS card, but I just figured I'd kill some time in that awkward time-gap before GDC kicks off.

I'll post pictures when they arrive. I ordered them on Moo Luxe cards. Never worked with them before, so hopefully they come out okay.

I hope you have corrected "EVNRIONMENT" to "ENVIRONMENT" before you sent them to printing.

Hah. Man. They're currently on their way here. Serves me right. Should've been more thorough.

Ahhhhhhhhhh well, hopefully people will remember me for my rendering skills, not my proof reading skills.

This is by far one of the coolest business cards I have ever seen. but you should probably order some more with the correct spelling. Handing something to someone that is supposed to represent you with a miss spelt word on it does not look good to a potential employer.

Love this idea for a business card. Nice work, the textures look great! This would be awesome on some really thick card stock

Ah, thanks so much for all the compliments guys. Means a lot in the face of having to make such a minor, yet crucial correction.

I'm definitely still going to keep the others that I ordered as a second-string line up for card give aways. Either way, this was a fun exercise and I think I learned a good deal from it. I will probably be doing it again next year based on how the cards are LITERALLY received this year haha.

I can see some World of warcaft seige of ogrimmar inspiration can't I XD, pretty nice. Personally I can't work with sculpts as a startingpint for my handpainted textures. But this seems like a good start. You might want to look at the wood some more, it looks a little too much like it's made of plastic (little too much specular I guess). But pretty nice overall

That's some cool style! So, you used a font as a base for the front plate and projected it into the mesh from an alpha or how did you go about sculpting it?

Would be even cooler if it was made from actual wood and iron. If I was to receive one, it would be just rude from not to check this portfolio.
