I'm having trouble zremeshing an object. Every time I zremesh, I either get an error message or the program crashes. Has anybody ever had this problem before? Does anybody know why this happens or how to fix this issue?
If it persists even after relaunching the program, I'd check if symmetry is on, if you're using the alt modifier, and consider switching to 32bit (or vice versa).
I've been having trouble with Zremesher because it always dramatically decreases my polycount by hundreds of thousands. Even if I check on keep the same polycount, half, or double, and turn off adaptive density, it goes down from about 1.3 million to about 100k polys. Any suggestions?
Still having the same problem in 2016, zremesher always remesh ''too hard'' even if I check half. On a 35,1 M polygons I check half and it gives me a 65k poly mesh after it. I'vm on Zbrush 4R7 P3 and I've reinstall it once and I'm keeping the problem. Anyone know how to fix the problem ?
Okay I have some new problems now. For some reason I have no idea why I'm having difficulty with z-remesh again. I figured this out back when I was working with my red riding hood model, but for some strange reason when I z-remesh the entire model, the program does not take into account z-remesh guidelines. Take a look here:
Before z-remesh:
After z-remesh:
As it turns out, the model loses its shape especially around the eyelid and mouth region. I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong and what steps it would take to solve this issue. The only solution (but with bad results) I've come across is to isolate the face from the body via "select lasso" tool and z-remesh. While the face retains its shape, the border of the isolated face doesn't flow well with the body of the mesh. See for yourself:
I've watched several tutorials about this on youtube, but I couldn't find a solution to these issues. If you guys have any solutions for this problem, please let me know. I've exhausted all possibilities that I can think of, and I'm hardly getting anywhere. Thank you.
Zremesher doesn't currently seem to respect the guides too well unless you really crank their strength up to 99 or 100 (and even then it might not work to well). This has been a common problem for a while now, ever since they changed its algorithm to reduce spirals.
