These materials are superb! I'm in love with those mosaics!
I did however have a crit for you on the centaur statue. It's looking very structurally unstable. First off all the whole weight of the statue is only being supported on the one hind leg, and secondly the center of mass is not even above that leg. The statue would have cracked and fallen over even before it was finished, wether it was made of metal or marble!
What I would suggest is giving the statue a proper base and more connections to the ground, and if it is going to be marble, structural supports. In marble statues this is either in the form of struts connecting statue elements, or supports disguised as compositional elements. Marble, like all stone, has basically zero tensile strength.
Noodle's Hercules and the Centaur statue is a good example of both. The statue has a nice big marble base, and lots of supports. Horses are especially difficult. In marble their legs are too skinny to support the mass of the body, and horse statues often need chunky supports under the belly. Also, skinny objects like spears or swords were often made of metal if they had to stick out, like Hercules' club in that statue.
If I could suggest something that I think might look cool, you could make supports that look like barbarians being crushed under the rearing centaur! Kind of a riff on a popular motif on ancient roman cavalrymen tombstones. Google the tombstone of Flavinius the standard bearer in Hexham Abbey for a great example.
Anyways, this is my favorite project so far regardless, and I can't wait to see the finished product! Keep up the amazing work!!
Hi ! Thanks everyone for your support. Especially at this time, it really means a lot for us. Too much energy and a lot of time spent in this project. And this is almost the end. The time goes so fast...Well for now, i've some screens to share with you. Some elements are still in progress !
First attempt of the throne...We conclued that does not fit well with the rest, so this was put aside.
A global view of the throne room (still in WIP):

Orango : Thanks ! And by the way,,nice avatar ! Amaterasu from Okami right?
Awesome work man, but I just can't help but think the albedo on black marble bits is too dark, like when the pieces are in toolbag with direct bright light sources it looks good, but I find in normal lighting situations in your level it they go too dark.
#Endcar nice to see some french comments after 2 months of trying not to make mistakes at every sentence
#m4dcow Thx and you're right. Maybe the lighting did not get all this brightness but we were kinda pleased with the dark/sunburnt afternoon mood! (Maybe because of a lack of knowledge about UE lighting or time or both ^^).
But I agree with your comment.
As we are currently working and adjusting some FX and Chromatic tint I'll look into that and post the very Final Reday-To-Portfolio Video !
I noticed this did not place in the contest. I wonder if it was due to the lack of substance designer use as it seems it was used very sparingly over other softwares like DDO. Still stunning work though!
I too was shock and upset that this beautiful piece was not even considered into the contest. And seeing its extreme detail should've made top 3 along with "Mandate From Heaven" throne. But if it was due to the lack of using some of the Subtance software then I can understand . Again beautiful work.
