Hey everyone, I am starting to work on a art portfolio for my application to college and I don't know what to really put in it or what they look for or like. I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice.
The main things colleges want to see is potential, variety, and good art fundamentals. They don't want to see basic perspective or color 101 studies or practices, but they may want to see a image with a dozen or so of your best gesture drawings, as long as they are good.
Avoid including your first attempt or experiement projects unless they really do look great. Don't include anything you feel like you would need to explain.
