can't opeen my file anymore (maya)

hi guys, today i got this weird maya problem. everytime i want to open my recent file maya is crashing and says " // warning: the currently tab is not a scene tab. this icon size change operation is not implemented for this tab."

i really dont know what the heck happend to my file. could someone help me? i'd love not to start all over again^^

Did you try Googling the error?

ye i googled it^^..but since the file magically turned into a "12-file" i was even more confused.
but somehow, trough a copying "mistake" i can see my file again. i'm not sure what happened and how i managed to see it again^^

Did you enable Autosave? If so you should have extra versions of the file.

Try opening a new scene and do a File -> Import of your entire old scene.
