Game Art and Design Universities in the US.

Hi,

My name is Rahil and I'm a Indie Game developer from India. I am interested in coming to the US and doing Game Art or Game Design program. I have researched for many colleges and shortlisted a couple universities like Full Sail, Academy of Art , Savannah college of Art and Design etc.. Most reviews of these colleges are not so great and people just keep saying its cheaper and much more convenient to just learn using online tutorials.
The gaming Industry in India is still developing and there aren't many companies making AAA quality games. This is one of the main reasons for me to look for game design courses in the US.
I was hoping to get feedback as to which colleges are worth attending and if not what is the right course of action for me.

That shortlist seems pretty good to me. I didn't attend college in America but you definitely need a degree at least, as it will be extra helpful when you apply for a work visa later on (if you intend to look for work experience there).

As for colleges, they teach really good fundamentals and I'd argue to say the expense is definitely worth it. But really it depends on the individual to improve upon him/herself most of the time.

Thanks Tom. You are right the main reason for me to get the degree is for getting work visa (job) in the US.
