hey guys,
i'm trying to figure out how to make transitions like in this screenshot
(from The Last of Us: Left Behind)
they control their debris and decay so well! i am frankly clueless as to how to go about this.

im fairly certain A is two seperate meshes, but B and C? i have no clue.
a plane with an alpha texture?
some kind of funky thing i don't know about?
just looking for advice and opinions, thanks.

It could have been painted or even ray traced depending on the editor. It could also be manually placed decals. There's always a few ways to skin a cat.
