and as result wrote a bit more in-depth article on how the data- and workflow for rasterization is inside a GPU, and created a "compressed details" image. I suggest checking the renderhell books first, if you are not familiar with how rasterization works at all, as my article is much more low-level.
The illustrations are mostly compositions of published works, hence the pixel looting and crazy colors
