I started this sword as some random doodles on my sketchpad. A few days later I had a sword I actually liked. Scanned the sketch then brought it into photoshop for final editing and to make sure everything was symmetrical.
Just finished the High poly modeling and tossed this into Marmoset Two. I improvised on some shapes and decorations. My goal is to give the sword some nice light catching angles with an interesting, yet functional shape. Im going to use this as a portfolio piece and would love some c&c before I retopo and bake it.

It's looking pretty nice, but I think it'd benefit from some irregularities and damage to the high poly sculpt.

Before u retopo and bake it, take it to zbrush or edit the normals with decals or engravings. Other than that, pretty cool design :)

    Update, Finally!!

Been some time but I havent forgotten about this project. Baked it and learned more about normal maps while doing so. There is always something else to learn. I think the bake turned out pretty nice. Here is the current state of the low poly in Marmoset 2. Just normals and base values, no textures yet. Ill damage the metal a bit more but I wanted to get this progress I made posted. C&C welcome as always.

Can I see a high and low poly wire frame for this? as well as a normal?

Good start. I would advise taking this into zbrush and adding damage and surface details to help define the materials more. As it stands it's almost too perfect and doesn't make for an interesting PF piece. Good modeling though. However I would be careful not to have edges areas too sharp when you bake. Keep it up ;)

I personally would look into making the wrap more natural in the High Poly. Authentic sword design in LOTR lore and in medieval era's, would use heavy leather strips that would be wrapped and riveted onto the handle usually. Right now you just have ridges. I think with the hilt usually being the most decorative part of swords, that you should really try to create a spline based wrap (or whatever, spline just came first to mind) and get some texture on it in zBrush or in the Quixel Suite. Then would further break up the materials with a gem or some sort of decor on the hilt butt or upper cross bar.

Quick update. Been really busy lately but still determined to finish this project. Made the pommel gem a raw sapphire and beat up the weapon in zbrush.
