Hey everyone,
My first time entering a contest here, and posting in general.
I'm a student level designer and it's the first time i'm gonna create a full scene with my own assets.
I'll be creating a throne inspired by Chistian religion, with a key reference to Mary.
I have this throne right now. I'll may not put the sword I've drawn but add hands instead, like on the references pictures.
The scene takes place in a church and the throne is surrounded by darkness and demon tentacles.
I'll be using:
- Photoshop
- Zbrush
- 3Ds Max
- Substance Designer and may be Painter
- And of course my lover, the Unreal Engine 4

I don't really know witch one is better. Any advice?
I'm quite confident with the statue posing. I'm clearer than my sketches ^^
Cheers!
I've tried to do the rest with the inflat and the standard brush, but it looks more like roots.
Indeed Geno527, it's way better with the grey material ^^
Some updates:
I'll do the head on the next session.
Maybe you should change the base of the statue in this way :
I thought about taking some inspiration form the pope's throne:
I don't know if I should go for something sober or for some motifs/patterns on it.
Right now it looks like a mix between romanesque (symetrical pose, lack of movement) and gothic (lot of work on the folds) so that reference for the chair is discordant. But maybe it's wat you want?
Also, your folds looks more like veins, you should use the brush Trim Dynamic to get better shapes
Keep it up !
I know for the veins, I'm trying to smooth all of this. Thx for the advice, i'll try this brush!
3DS Max
ZBrush
Of course, i'll change the statue a little bit to fit the sit and correct some mistakes i've made.
