I haven't been able to work on anything hard surface, or sci-fi in quite a while so I thought this would be a good chance to get more of that on my portfolio. I also recently was looking into alien: isolation and loved the environments in it so that just added more fuel to the fire.
The idea is to create a single man bridge of a star-ship. The environment is pretty much T shaped with a rounded corridor leading into a the "bride" which are basically some steps up to a throne. It won't necessarily be in that alien late 70's - 80's future tech look but I will be drawing heavy inspiration from that.
Currently working on a block-out and will be testing some shapes/forms along with some prop layout and lighting this week.
Some of my Ref/Inspiration from gathering around the web:
*note that the lighting is extremely temp. I was playing around with some lighting in an earlier blockout and it somewhat worked for the new one so I didn't bother changing it for these shots as I didn't work on lighting today.

I found this thread here and they have some good ref gathered along with a great start to modeling:

I like where I am going so far. Usually I end up using other peoples concepts or combining a few peoples concepts for things. This time I am challenging myself to concept/design it all myself.
I plan on starting to model some of the more modular pieces this week. As for now here are my shots:
