Sci-fi Female Bounty Hunter

Hey guys, this is my first time post work on here, looking for some feedback. I graduated last year from a computer games arts course in the UK, now looking to build my portfolio towards a character artist position, so any feedback on my portfolio would be appreciated too. - http://alexcollins-art.co.uk/

Started her back in October, so I'm looking to get her finished up soon. I have been using her to learn more Zbrush, Quixel suite and UE4, still need to work more on her textures/materials.

Here are some WIP images of where i am now.

Thanks. :]

Looking at the armor it seems rather...unnatural. I'm having a hard time telling what material it's made out of (plastic?, metal?, both?). The way the light and shadow are playing off the armor is weird and some of the shadow looks kinda ugly. By the way what reference are you using?

    As for your portfolio:

-you've listed both environment and character art. Are you sure you want to do this rather than have two separate portfolios (one for character art, one for environment art). The reason i'm saying is because if you apply for say a character artist position someone might see your environment art and see you as a jack-of-all trades type of guy.

-I'd have your contact information more readily visible (say on the home page somewhere) as well as on a separate page.

-The comments and critiques thing you have, is it really necessary? I mean couldn't i then go on your portfolio and type something like "this art looks like sh**"?. You probably wouldn't want someone going over your application to see stuff like that. Also you asking for critique for stuff in your portfolio makes it seem like you're unsure about what's supposed to be your best work.

Thanks for the feedback The WalkerGod. The material i have in my head, is a painted metal, but reflective and smooth, like a car? In terms of reference, Mass effect and Halo armor's as well as various other 3d artists work.

Yeah thats a fair point , I might try and segregate the portfolios a bit more more. At the moment I feel either portfolio would be a bit sparse on their own.

Never thought about that before, though i guess i would remove it if that happened. As you say though I could just have contact details there instead for feedback.
