Transparent materials in Blender Cycles?

Just a shot in the dark here, anyone know how to make good transparent materials in Blender's Cycles?
I want it to be pretty much totally invisible aside from the specular highlights.
This is probably not the ideal place to ask but I've not had good luck elsewhere. In fact some mod should probably move this to a different section.
