How do you view normal maps in max 2013,14,15?...
...since DX doesn't work -> viewport shaders doesn't work!

Seems completely fine in DirectX11 Nitrous viewport in Max2015 for me.

It could be your "show realistic texture in viewport" button in the material window. I had a similar issue, click and hold down the button and try the shaded/realistic options. I can't remember which it is that works for me, I think it's realistic.

I've tested it and in 2014 it doesn't work!
(right image is from 3do/ddo model viewer in PS)
edit:same in 2015, even worse
how did you check it guys??
It's not working and I almost can't work!

Hello!
turn off the gamma/lut and it will resolve the problem!
In Customize > Preference > Gamma and Lut
