Starting this thread to share my personal character work. Most characters will be high resolution cinematic/cutscene characters. The renders will be quite large to show as much detail as possible. That said I'll try not to overload the thread with too many images. Critiques are very much appreciated. Here are two beauty renders and wires.
The hair looks very thick. Almost like a porcupine.
It also looks really hard.
I'd also place fewer hair in front of the ear there. It looks like one big clump right now.
Other than that, the head looks really good:)
Would love to see a shot with the eyedetail as well.
Also, did you use just a bump for the cloth, or is there some hair there as well?:3
Looks great!, I agree with allknighter on it looking very hard though. Maybe adding some SSS would help with that? Also, the skin looks to unified in color. Real human skin has lots of colors in it, especially around the eyes.
I would say, make the eyebrows thicker and wider. I don't know if you personally have those eyebrows but they are pretty distracting; for me at least. Think of caterpillars, they should look like caterpillars haha. It looks like you have a good spot for the eyebrows to go as well, looks well shaped there. Look at George Clooney's eyebrows.
Needs stray hairs, and if you look at hair lines they think out with random hairs along the boarder edges. Otherwise this looks pretty sweet. Can't wait to see more!

There's only a normal and a displacement on the cloth.
Here's a quick character head asset I modeled today. Rendered in VRay. Now working on the SSS textures so will post a textured render soon.
