Can't think of anything else to do with his face right now, other than the details(but that's for later)..
So i started working on the forms for his body before sculpting, trying to keep that stylized ape like feel(but subtle). I'll try to nail that comicbook/Jim Lee feel today.
Critiques are welcome if you have the time.
Haven't been posting in a while, so here's some more progress for comicon...
Really starting to dislike this guy more and more lol, anyways time to get him dressed.
I'll probably work on the tail once the clothes are blocked in , just to see how it all fits together.
can't wait to see what u come up with. that Death Battle had more than a few discrepancies but Superman is so OP it probably wouldn't have made much difference. good luck man!
Just a rough blockout of the suit, short sleeved because i want to do arm hair. No longer being the embodiment of hope is the reason for the symbol being torn out, plus another reason to make some chest hair lol...and practice torn material i guess
Feels like my wrist is going to break if i don't get a tablet soon..Should probably start saving up i guess...
Anyways updates here finally!, Decided to scrap the suit design and start over. Trying out fibermesh so i can visualize the hair better, going to make planes though...
Meh so i guess the high poly is pretty much finished, polish up some more then onto the low poly...
Been struggling with baking for the past few days.. Finally have the issues solved, tons of help in the hangout. I may mess with the face a bit more and the suit, but i guess low poly is finished..Anyways so far he's sitting at 8k, hopefully it wont skyrocket too much once i start working on the hair planes...Time to crank up mudbox and start hand painting..Finally.
I really like his expression. New suit is looking good, too. May I ask how you did the torn material on the old one?
Hey thanks. I just had that area unmasked when i made the extraction for his clothes, then used the move brushes to pull some of it forward, and snakehook for the rest. Hopefully that was helpful.
Forgot how to use mudbox so just stayed in photoshop, i suck at painting lol really wish i would have painted more than drawing, But oh well I'll get better. Just need to work on the kamehameheat and other effects then i can move on to rigging and further polish this crap. He's sitting under 11k so I'm happy idk why I'm so obsessed with optimization all of a sudden.
