Edit: Please feel free to leave a critique. I know I have a long way to go, but I gotta start somewhere. The advice and pointers are greatly appreciated.
Modeling has never been my strongest asset and I have very little experience in it, but hawt damn~ there are some mighty fine artist on this website and they've inspired me to whip out my tablet and take a crack at it. Here's my journey through the battlefield of edge loops and poly faces.
First Mission: Trudging through the Mud...box.
Do you even face, bro? 2 hour "speed sculpt" where it felt like I spent more time figuring out to make eyeball spheres and setting up my tablet than doing actual sculpting. :T

Pulled out my drawing reference book and took a crack at facial muscles. I'm getting comfortable with the wax and smooth tool, but lips man.... they're a killer.
I found the monthly challenge thread and tried my hand at modeling the character's face. I really need to figure out how to make eyes. Also, how to build up shapes... hmmm, I'll google a few tutorials later when I have free time.
One of the rules in the noob challenge thread stipulates that I need to render the model in a real-time engine. Since I don't have one at the moment, I'll just keep my posts to my sketch thread.
Here's my progress so far:
I'm making my way through painting the textures. I'll update more once I can get another chunk of free time.
Edit: Somebody posted this awesome link so I'm saving it here for me to look at when I get home.

Thanks, man! c:
Maybe I'll finish texturing this weekend.
