Interesting design with the inset throne area domonick.
Have you considered curving the staircases around the circular shape though to give that area a bit more flow?
Actually yes, more of a more spiraled stair case was my original thought, then was concepting during the block out stage and tried the straight stair set.
I am intending to make a spiraled set to, so I can swap out and see how it looks with everything.
This is a new update on how my layout is looking. For the most part, I have detailed the assets as far as I want them to be, to be realistic with time management for the texturing/material design process.
I have already unwrapped most of the assets, and will continue to finish out the rest in these next couple days.
Other than that, I am starting, and planning out the substances/materials I want to make. I will be using Substance Designer and Substance Painter, since it has a great pipeline.
As of right now, I am going with the straight stair case, instead of the curved idea. I really like the thought of the curved casing, but for now, that would involve a lot of changes to assets in scene.
If there is time at the end to make an alternate version, to compare between the two, I will do that.
Added in lava materials, and adjusted the assets to look as if the lava has created channels through the stairs and wall. Material is flowing and moving, as if it were real lava.
