I have a bit of a random question about Maya and assets.
Let's say I have all my image assets (HDRI, material maps, even reference objects) on a network drive and I'm calling all that information from my local computer and I need to hand off the base Maya project to another company/division.
Is there a way to tell Maya to copy all those used assets and put them in a folder on my local computer?
I know that Maya is setup to have project folders in which all these assets should be saved, but the way I need to work is have all these assets organized and stored on the company's network drives. I could copy them locally by hand, but this way if those assets are changed between the start and the end of the project, I'll be packing up the most up-to-date project possible.
Random question, there might not even be this type of functionality in Maya. I just figured I'd ask around.
Cheers guys!

Thanks for posting! It didn't occur to me to try this for backing up my own personal work on a network drive at home. This will allow me to export everything with connections intact!
