the tent colors are kind of wierd

uh ... im not certain what to do with this
the lighting inside the tent would get tinted by the tent so
im not certain what it should look like

A tent will act as a light filter. But it has two coloured parts.




Your best bet is to start off with two photo filters, and split it top and bottom and colour them according to the colour of the material patterns. Then you need to manually put bounce light in of the various colours around the scene.

I'd recommend looking for tent images online, such as http://ciresblogs.colorado.edu/antarcticuavs/wp-content/uploads/sites/34/2014/01/inside_tent-1.jpg to get a sense of how much light is tinted by the material.
It is also important to establish exactly what kind of light is outside. Mid day? Morning? Early evening?
