IN PROGRESS: Reimporting maps and updating maps help

Hey guys, so i have been working on a model for a bit now and i have gotten to the point where its not recognizing some of my ID colors so i try fixing it but it wont seem to update in dDO, also sometimes on a layer mask i try adding a little touch but when i do that it wont update it across and i cant seem to find a way to do it. thanks for your help

So for your first issue, what is the file format for your color ID? how many different colors are there roughly, just a few or a crazy amount?
About the mask, what exacly is the problem, does the mask turn black or will it not recognize the latest changes you made? is it custom painting or just dynamask in general?
