THRONE ROOM – <Still Undefined> – First Light Team

Hi all, we have decided to enter the contest : Jose Vega and Me (Jose Torres) - representing First Light game development studio, we are a small team from Puerto Rico USA/commonwealth island (San Juan).

For the time being our theme for the game throne is still undefined so that's why we stated this at the thread's name <Still Undefined> - we hope to define it soon enough and of course will be posting our progress through here and sharing with you all, so we can all learn a tad more from each other. We are very exited for this opportunity and already liked a lot of what we are currently seen from you all ! :D

Meanwhile We'll leave our personal portfolio pages links in case you want to see a tad of our works, and hope you come back eventually and check our progress. We may also be providing Google hangouts live links while we work in case you be interested on checking on us! Your feedback is very welcomed!

Software to be used: Photoshop, Blender, Paint, Designer, Bitmap2Material, ZBrush and Unity game engine.

Hi all, it seems we have finally decided for the kind of throne we are going to attempt. It would be a nature based one. Our Inspiration is an environment that would please a Druid.

Here is our early sketch thumbnail, hope you like the idea.

We are making use of Unity game engine. Right now we are kinda skipping ahead and we are sorry for this, but we need to make sure we grasp ourselves the direction we want to go before we decide to delve into explaining the inner-side of things to all of you peeps. So please bear with us. Hope you understand.

Here are some of the comparisons we are making so we can win over the design decision making progress as fast as we can. We need to be fast at this if we want so more extra time in order to be able to provide as much quality as we can afford in the final product.

Please by all means feel free to provide us with your valuable feedback, every opinion counts. You never know! :)

The following is a quick break-down of what is expected to happen during the remaining of the month and the next one!

    2) With this information, then Jose Vega will have a much more solid base upon to build from. So next part of the process will be to 'Block Out' the actual overall architecture of the Room. So he can use this information to paint over and photo-bash-texture over until we are happy with the 'looks' of the architecture too...

    3) Once we nail this, we will do the same but this time with nature.

    4) We will move to the process of actually modelling the final geometry after Vega provides the team with true final looks trough his final concepts and final quality renders.

    5) After that we shall then start playing with Substance in order to craft the more appropriate substances we can, so we can use them as the materials for the game engine by means of the Substance plugin for Unity in this case.

    6) We do care about special effects, lighting that be appropriate for different places of the Room. We implement in here the use of adequate particle effects for everything that should be producing them, plus we tune in the best real-time sky we can and ditch out this static one.
