Hello polycount! I'd like to share a 3D project I've been working on where I digitally taxidermy animal mounts in order to practice sculpting in zBrush and the whole retopologizing workflow. So far there are only two but I hope to continue it and see what I can learn.
#1: Marsh Menace This animal uses its false head perched on its secondary neck to appear alert and ready to strike as it eats with its lower, true mouth. In addition it can breathe through the upper nostrils while feeding on swampy foiliage.
#2: Blood Tapir
This is a species of tapir native to the rain forest which gets its name from its red face and also the ability to dilate the blood vessels in its face at will altering the appearance of the spots on its face. They are known to use their spots for intimidation and mesmerizing prey when hunting. The younger tapirs have darker skin that reddens with age, the spots help them camouflage into the forest floor.
Sculpted in zBrush, retopologized in 3D coat and assembled in Cinema 4D, maps baked in xNormal
Haha, what the hell, these creatures look ridiculous. I love it. Keep it up, I'm enjoying this. Very creative. Not much to say really. Can't wait to see what comes next out of you creativity!
