Hey guys, here's a project I started yesterday (Saturday). It's
this pistol, designed by Daisuke Kazama.
I aim to finish it within 1 week, although with school I may not be able to.
I have a basic blockout for the frame and slide so far. Right now I'm working on the decorative grooves in the slide, and then I'll move on to the ejection port and some internals of the gun.
So here's the blockout so far:

Next I'll be moving on to the ejection port.
If I'm going to finish by the end of Saturday, that gives me 3 evenings (3-4 hours each) and most of Saturday to get this done. I'm thinking I'll have the high poly done tonight, then do lowpoly and unwrapping Thursday and Friday, and then baking and texturing on Saturday. We'll see if I can manage that :P
Good work so far! I'm not sure about this but it seems to me that some edges are softer than what they're supposed to be on the uppert part of the gun. But it's very subtle. Just an impression? Or maybe it's the lack of material and texturing work. We'll see!
Looking great in my opinion. Maybe one detail could be improved because it differs from the same pattern that exist in other parts of the gun. I've circled the zone in red in the picture attached.
Are you going to texture your model?
