GPU reccomendations.

I really need to replace my aging GPU, I have upgraded the rest of my PC about a month ago, but I still have an old HD5770 in there.

My budget is about £160, up to £200 on something REALLY worth the extra money.

Right now I'm looking at [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Dual-X-Radeon-GDDR5-Graphics/dp/B00FL8H49Q/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top"]this[/ame], but I am open to other reccomendations.


I mostly do 3D modelling, high poly hard surface in Maya, sculpting in Zbrush, and texturing with PS CS6, with some semi-regular gaming thrown in. I also regularly use Unity and UE4.

If I were you I'd go for a GTX 760 with that budget. This one's on sale: [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-Nvidia-GeForce-Superclocked-Graphics/dp/B00DMB6D8W/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1421440031&sr=1-2"]http://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-Nvidia-GeForce-Superclocked-Graphics/dp/B00DMB6D8W/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1421440031&sr=1-2[/ame] Nvidia cards tend to do Autodesk programs a little bit better than AMD, and you'll be able to use CUDA-accelerated renderers like Octane or Cycles if that's your thing. For all the other programs you listed there will be only a small difference between the two cards, and no difference at all for Zbrush.

If you're willing to save up a little longer, GTX 970s are very nice, still pretty cost-effective (at least here in the US), and you'll be able to run VXGI on them on the Nvidia branch of UE4. But the 760 and 270x are both more than adequate.

So the Nvidia 960 GTX is launching next week, I would wait for that before making any purchases. It is rumored to be £200 , but could very well make prices of other cards drop.
