Semester of Refinement through Critique

Hello,

I will be using this thread to post models that I would like to get feedback on. I will be posting a new one each week for the next 5 or 6 weeks. The models will range for objects to characters to environments. All feedback is welcome!

My first model is a Microscope. I have included a Blinn pass, Occlusion pass, and Contour pass. I was trying to achieve a realistic looking model.

So with these assignments, are you just modeling or planning to get these to a point where I can see them in a game engine, fully textured and ready to go?

Mostly these models will be for stand alone models or for film. I haven't decided if I will do any game models this semester. But this model is just a model which I will texture/light and put in some sort of environment. It has way to many polys to be considered for gaming.

What rendering model are you using?

I created and rendered with Maya 2014. On other projects I will use zbrush and Maya2015.

By renering model, I meant actually are you planning to rely on Diffuse, Specular, Gloss, etc? for textures, or used a Physically Based Shader?

I haven't decided how I am going to texture yet. Most likely, I will not use Physically based shaders. I will probably do render passes in Maya with diffuse, AO, specular, etc...
