Hi guys. So after seeing all these threads about Substance Designer I had to pick it up. For the start I tried to make some tileables by just using what is inside substance (no custom maps used).
This is my first texture that I made in Substance. Decided to go for an old concrete wall for the first attempt because it seemed simple.

After that I decided to play around with brick generator a bit and delve a bit deeper into Substance Designer so I came up with an old brown brick wall.

This is the graph for the brick texture.

Also I will post more textures later!

@marty - Allegorithmic has a ton of great tutorials already on their youtube channel and lots of artists are sharing some great techniques. Don't let it scare you! Substance is a ton of fun to dive into and the amount of freedom and speed of iteration makes it so unique. You'll constantly find new ways of achieving results and there are so many happy accidents along the way. Give it a shot you won't regret it. - I think the demo was 30 days.
Most of the things guys show here is simple stuff. But no one here touched custom functions and FX-Maps yet. That's where it all can get a little complicated because a little math may be needed, especially for custom functions. But this is probably for more technical ones here. For most materials you probably can stick with what's pre-made by Allegorithmic.
We are using Substance Painter & Designer almost exclusively in our video game we are developing. It was a little intimidating at first but just thinking about the nodes as automated Photoshop engines helped me out a lot.
Here's the thread I'm running: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=146737
Let me know if you have any questions as I'm tromping through most of the same stuff too.
Nice work so far.
