Maya Issue

I have came across a slight issue and I can not figure out how to fix it. Here is the prognosis. Maya gets stuck when saving, and exporting. It does not happen every-time but 80% of the time. I have deleted my maya folder and that did not do anything. I have as well uninstalled maya completely and re-installed it. The issue continues. I have done this is multiple scenes and different models. Sometimes it saves but it takes a very long time to do so. I also have to say that this just started happening out of the blue I have been using maya for years and my computer is pretty powerful.

When you say you've deleted your maya folder do you mean user prefs?
Also what version of maya are you using?

2014 and I deleted the whole maya folder under Documents

Is it possible your storage HDD shuts down to conserve power? That would subsequently cause your computer to wait several seconds for the HDD to spin back up before being able to write to disc. Although you'd probably experience the same issue across all of your software.

It is so wierd. I hate it. All the work I do just gets thrown away. I have stopped working until I can figure this out. I have done several tests with new meshes and such aswell.

Maya hangs/crashes completely or just takes a long time? Does the script editor spit out any helpful errors? How long are we talking here?

In your last thread you said you have a lot of plugins, and a screenshot showing some tools or something on a network path. If it were me, I'd check those paths and make sure they're still valid, or do a test with all unnecessary plugins disabled; assuming that you reinstalled those too.

It seems to have stopped for now. I am thinking it was a corrupted file or something. I re installed it again on my HD instead of my SSHD.
