dDo Legacy Skyshop Viewer not showing image

So when I start a new project in dDo legacy everything works fine but when I open the 3d viewer there is only a chrome cube with noting on it. Other times there isn't even a cube or anything else in the viewer.
My dDo legacy works fine on my work computer (using Windows 7) but this issue is on my home PC which uses Windows 8.
I've searched and searched online but I can't seem to find a solution. I've tried a clean install, and that doesn't seem to help either.
