Answered: Texture rotate in dDo?

Ive been looking around and cant seem to find any info on it. I was using the cracked concrete material in DDO but I wanted that crack to move horizontally instead of vertically but I couldn't figure out how to do it short of manually doing it in photoshop after the fact.
Is there any way to actually do this in Ddo?

I believe 1.9 will have rotation. Until then, you'd have to do it manually on all of your maps.

Curious.. how does one rotate a pattern... looks to be impossible to rotate things as they stand... since everything for wood is pattern based in photoshop rather then layer or texture based lol...

When will 1.9 come out? I can hardly wait. You will definently have a new customer from me when it does I am still playing with the trial version. Seems like that rotation is the only thing missing.

When will 1.9 be out? Instant customer from me as soon as it does. Im still on trial, but this is awesome outside of that rotation crap. Impossible to rotate as it stands now since u cant rotate pattern overlays in photoshop.

Kurlo3d - As fast as Teddy´s fingers can code it! Glad to hear that you like it, and yes, not being able to rotate is hindering!

Im sorry I cant give you a date or timeframe, but its very hard to estimate bug-fixing and the time it takes to repro them.

Any suggestion on how i can rotate the normals with it being by hand? What route can i take to change the color direction and all that since im rotating a pattern and not an actual image... RGB mattering for normals and all...

Your product is amazing.. and as an indie developer it is huge. Time is money and this saves a LOT of time.

You cant rotate patterns in photoshop and that is why rotating textures is not yet a feature for DDO, so there is no easy way. What you can do is to do a merged copy of the texture and rotate it by hand, and then switch R and G, and invert them as needed depending on the new angle. But its coming with 1.9, so hopefully soon!

Wood is especially important to be able to rotate. I am sure you all know it already but just in case this might help someone al the wood materials in DDO seem to flow from left to right (wood grains left to right) . So if you rotate your UV´s having this in mind its possible to use this as a workaround until 1.9 comes out. Usually a good way to organize your UV´s anyway for future work on the texture maps.

im not going to lie... its sort of impossible trying to do it this way.. it would be easier painting a texture from scratch.. rotating 10 normal maps and changing the color......after i convert them into actual textures that can be rotated from patterns or whatever...too much work. Is there any beta of 1.9 i can try? lol Also will we have the ability to rotate per uv shell?

These are one of those features we desperately need, yet it has to be part of some massive update that takes 4-5 months longer than expected. It would be so much better if you guys would simply add a little patch to give us small but needed features.

I agree that it is very needed, it is however not an easy thing to implement though it might seem so.
So we're not "holding back" on this feature to release a bigger bang later. We're sorry that the program is lacking this very needed feature, we will work on adding it as soon as we can, right now though we are doing a stability push which takes priority at the moment, thanks for your patience!

Texture rotation is done by right clicking on the layer you'd like to rotate. The options for rotation will be exposed at that point.

Is there any way to rotate the textures a custom amount? I can only see 90 and 180 degree rotation?

It's in increments of 90 degrees currently - that may change in the future!

Does rotating the layer also rotate the source pattern of any masks applied to that layer?
