3ds max home grid issues

I am using 3ds max 2013 and I am trying to adjust my home grid " grid spacing" to 1' but every time I close out it adjust itself to 0'11"....it keeps on auto adjusting the grid how it wants. Any body know how to fix this?

and i press on the arrows on the grid spacing within the home grid and the entire grid moves around...

What unit set up are you using? it might be mismatch with that.

units set up feet 1-1
system units set up 1 unit=1 centimeters

I like to work in feet to keep things in perspective. I am exporting for UE4.
id like to be able to work in feet in 3ds max and still export to ue4 and have the size match...

You need to set the system unit as the unit you want to work with.
The first unit that you mention is the display only. So when you type 1, it means 1cm but display in inch.
