SOLVED: Ndo Keeps crashing

Hi,
I have been searching for solutions but couldn't find any.

I run my quixel suite in administrator mode and yet when i click on dDo it crashes.

My Ndo works but right after i launch ddo i get the crash message.

Any solutions?

I am running Photoshop CC, Quixel Suite 1.8, Windows 8.1

Im running the english version of Photoshop, i have enough space for scratch disk. It was working fine until 1.8 came out.

Hi mindblowz! Sorry for late reply, I did check your post some time ago but forgot to write "Looking in to this" very sorry!

Okay so ddo worked good with 1.7 but when updating to 1.8 it broke?
You already tried a fresh re-install and that did nothing, some people have reported that using
Revo uninstaller and then re-install the suite has yielded good results and solved ddo crashbug,
This is something we´re still looking in to but it might be a good solution for now?

Teddy is looking in to all the crashes right now and we hope to have this solved as soon as possbile! Sorry for the hassle!

it worked on 1.7 but as soon as i updated to 1.8 dDo started giving me crash report.
I did try the fresh install it didn't work.
I will try with revo uninstaller and try it again now.

So a few things to try:

- Make sure there are no non-alphanumerical characters in the title
- do you have any anitvirus that might block the suite?
- try running both the suite and PS as admin
- is the suite installed on a network drive?

A few things to try out so we can narrow it down!

they are both installed in D drive
there are no alhanumerical characters
in processes i have allowed quixel in my bitdefender still no good

I get the same crash error then both photoshop and quixelsuite relaunches. When i click on ddo again i get the warning no input path specified, aborting patch.

I tried rolling back to 1.7 and still get the same issue.

Hi mindblowz and thanks a million for your patience! So we´ve narrowed down the cause to this file:
C:\Users\Public\<User>\SUITE\script\presets\Contours\standard.shc
Does this file exist for you? if so, try to load it in to PS manually, and see if that makes any difference on the crash!

i went in to the directory C/users/Public but i do not have the other folders you mentioned. The only folders i have there is from zbrush. That is it.

Because i did not install Suite into my C:, i installed in my D drive where photoshop is also installed.

I launched suite, came to Edit>Preset>Preset Manager from photoshop. Then Dragged the box to Contours, then loaded the Contours in D:QuixelSuite/Scripts/presets/Contours/Standart.shc but i still get the same error when launch ddo after doing this

Can you explain how you wanted me to manually load the contours please.

hi eric, i tried loading it manually like the way i mentioned above but it did not work. Can you help me out please

Im so very sorry (again) for all this, I think you have the one bug that we haven´t been able to figure out,

After some remote debugging we managed to find and solve this bug! we are currently wokring on a 1.8 stability update and we will make it available through download here on polycount shortly!
