While browsing through the calibration profiles for UE4 and Disney GGX, I noticed ApplyGGXCurve-function with an exposure parameter.
Can someone explain why is this curve (and exposure) needed?

Because quixel materials are scanned with blinn-phong calibration, so an adjustment curve is needed to bring them in line with GGX.
