Again, comments and critiques welcome, I've been working on material definition and deciding what to bake into normal vs what to keep in geo. Baking the heat shield hole edges was frustrating and I couldn't get a good bake there.

I really like the shotshells. The texture on them on the caps is great. The top portion of the shell looks a little strange but overall it's pretty sweet. I think you could get away with removing some of those edges in low-poly on the barrel still. I'm not that great at baking, to confess, but that smoothness will still be retained.

Looking good. Some texture flats would probally help if youre needing advice. What colour is the silver part of the gun on your diffuse?

Yep, if you are going for brushed metal look you need to make the silver part dark grey on your diffuse, and make it lighter on the metalness map. You're really going to get a better result by doing that, refer to this chart for pbr

Thanks for the comment! I think I will experiment with more contrast in the roughness and a darker albedo for the metal bits. This model has an anodized aluminum finish that mossberg calls 'marinecote' or something and it's slightly yellowish/warm and has a duller sheen than standard nickel plating or steel. However a glossier/more contrasted look may be a more aesthetically successful choice.
