I'm actually starting this thread a little late on, so here are some images of the base mesh I created in 3DS max. I'm not great at topology so it has some little issues.

I'm trying to do as much in lover subdivisions before I divide up more.
And this is far as I have gotten today. I have done some basic body/face sculpting and started making folds in his scarf. I'm not crazy knowledgeable about anatomy, so I would love some feedback.
I've gotten into the habit of constantly changing matcaps as they all seem to show different imperfections...
