How to make clean transparent textures in Blender

[SOLVED]
If you want to get fully transparent textures use this http://bencrowder.net/art/blender-quicktips/transparent-textures/
Or more comprehensive methods like this

Hey everyone, I'm just a newbie trying to figure out a simple problem

I've been looking everywhere for a solution to a little problem I'm having in Blender

When I make transparent textures, I get these really ugly white borders around the see-through parts. I've done alpha channels for it, but no matter what, it has a border to some degree, what am I doing wrong?

For example, I'm trying to make this knight's armor have tattered clothe near his waist

I'm just going for a very low poly pixel texture style, like from Megaman Legends, Kenneth's stuff, a nice and clean pixelized style

I've looked through polycount and couldn't find anything similar to this, and youtube/other forums haven't been any help

Any help appreciated!
