Hi.
I have a small problem with Maya and RAM consumption while reloading textures.
I've done a small test. Just a box with lambert material nad 4k textures added to color channel. The texture is Targa file.
So the problem is when I edit this texture in photoshop and realoading it in Maya ( auto reload or manual reload ) maya start using plenty of my moemory. After few reloads it takes 3gb, and after working a while take 10gb. Then my pc ofcourse is working like a crap.
Of course I can restart maya and everything is fine until I will work again for few hours on my textures.
Thanks for any help in advance !
Btw. Friend of mine just checked this and he doesn't have this kind of problem, so I'm not sure really what is wrong with my maya or maybe pc.
I'm using maya 2015 SP5 / win 7 / 16gb ram / gtx 660 / i7.

One solution would be to just use a different program to display textures, either the target engine or an intermediary program like Toolbag. You shouldn't use the Maya viewport anyways, its full of lies.
Anyways after some reinstalls it seams that this problem is not visible when using Viewport 2.0 But when I switch to Legacy Default Viewport RAM consumption is growing automatically to enormous number.
bugs sometimes. Anyway, it's not that bad after all service packs
