Made this thread in hope for critiques on my up and coming work. They are going to be geared towards improving my current portfolio. If you have any critiques it would be appreciated.
Stone texture I'm finishing up using Zbrush and Substance Painter. I still need to refine the roughness and try and get a better render. If you see anything else just let me know.
Roughness feels a bit too low in my opinion, they're very shiney. And the lighting doesn't really impress me, it's very flat and there's not very much saturation value. The mortar just looks like grey goo.
Cool beans, I'll go ahead and mess with the values more then and maybe add a skylight to add some more color to the lighting. Thank you, if you see anything else just let me know please.
Maybe see if you can decrease the spacing between the stones? I imagine they should be a little more compact if possible. Your normals are looking really good I must say.
Thank you for feedback Alex. Sadly I would have to re-do the whole thing if I moved the rocks around, and I at the moment don't have time to go back and fix it. I will however take your advice onto the next project, so thank you for that. Here is the latest version of the rock. I edited the lighting a lot and messed with the roughness of the mortar. If you see anything else just let me know please.
Yeah, here is some of what I was using . I think I thought the shininess looked good because it was interesting. I was having a hard time getting lighting set up and not having it look too dull. I'll go back and make some revisions though real quick.
