Grapics card problems with maya

Hi,
i just got a new GTX 970, and all was good in till I went in to Maya 2015 and an error popes up "VP2 Error : Failed to initialize graphics device." i got really scared and opened some projects of mine and they all seamed to look fine, when I render them everything went well to the only problem is that I can not can not use View port 2.0 any suggestions I am updating Maya 2015 to service pack 5 as we speak and im updating my drivers.

Any help would be appreciated

What was your last GPU? Did you uninstall the old GPU drivers and install the new drivers before opening Maya?

Thanks for the reply, I had a GTX 770 before but i discovered what the problem was form some reasone the old driver was messing up the new one so after I uninstalled it all was fine and worked great. But once again thx for trying to help !
