I'm a bit late to the party but I wanted to clean up some of the stuff on my piece before posting it. I made a night elf warden, my favorite NE hero from Warcraft 3. I didn't make up a great back story for her but I figured that Netherstorm would be an ideal place for her to be. I wanted to make something that would fit into today's games so she's below 12k triangles as opposed to Garrosh which was a bit higher.
Hope you like it!
Dude this looks great. I don't even want to try and critique it haha.
Would you mind if I asked how you went about doing the embroidery on the sculpt? just a curiosity
D_Wall: I used curves in max to create them. I tried doing it in various other ways like painting it in the texture but the curves proved to work best. Thanks, man!
@Xaragoth: You've got a point there but this warden's inspiration came from Maiev Shadowsong. Maiev is a very different NE who barely even shows her face in the concept arts. As opposed to other nightelves she seems to prioritize fighting efficiently over looks.
I noticed it because Cordana Felsong, who is a Warden, is currently part of WoD and she's showing a bit of skin, that's why I mentioned it. And since Blizz usually makes everything look the same ... ya know. It's mostly because NEs are so Amazon-inspired.
Not that I don't like it, just pointing that out about it, because I came across it in the game recently Though obviously your armor is different to the in-game ones
It's very little along her arms and I think back of the knees (which seems more like an issue with how the armor is shown on the nightelf base)? I'll have to hunt her down, but they are wearing full body plate for the most part. If you look at the 2nd one, you see bare arms. It's mostly because half the armor is re-used parts of Hunter gear as I recall it.
As I said 'a little bit' - as in literally a bit. But it was more in reference to them not wearing leather protection below their armor, really.
Basically just sayin' pretty much any Nightelf lady you find, they usually seem to be only wear underwear, no normal armor pieces.
But yeah, basically just noticed that she has leather armor instead of skin and that seemed weird to me in the relation to how most of the NEs armors are designed in WoW
edit: btw your Folio Garrosh currently links to your Warden page as well, just noticed since I wanted to look at him

Congrats on the win btw, Leslie!
Only critique: Nightelf Ladies usually aren't wearing a purple suit, that's actually a lot of skin showing

It looks like those screenshots were from the alpha/beta, do you have any shots of how she currently looks?

Thanks for pointing out the website error!
But yeah, basically I was confused about purple leather on what is normally purple skin. Hope it didn't sound too stupid *g
I made a little "making of" for some of my workflow;

Hope you find it useful
