hi, I found this nice concept from Chris Drysdale on deviantArt ( http://spex84.deviantart.com/ )
Looking for something simple for my first PBR attempt
blockout looks good. only weak part to me is the top of the frame, looks like a box extruded up and in, as a shape it just screams "i'm a 3d model and not a real object." changing it early in the blockout might be a good idea imo. Integrating the sights with some sort of cutout or slot in the frame would help it
I would add more geo to the hammer; it's going to be seen up close and you don't want the illusion to break because you missed adding a couple of loops here.
What kind of design are we possibly thinking of the grip plate? I know it's a somewhat blank matte in the concept, but maybe we could jimmy out something cool.
For the metal in PBR, the closer you are to chrome, the darker your diffuse/albedo is, and the brighter/stronger your reflectance/specular/metalness is.
If I were you I would try darkening the diffuse and making the specular brighter.
Closer to what you have in the small cylinder part in the front.
I think the metal looks a bit too uniform and noisy. Maybe try to give it larger shapes in specular and give slightly different values to the different components in order to differentiate them?

the concept shows the action

Looking forward to textures.
Detalling and sculpt
My metals seems a little dull right now, any advices?
Thanks for viewing
