Hey guys!
I'm a 3d year student at Media Design School in NZ (game art stream),this is my very first thread on Polycount,so I'm a bit nervous/excited xD
I've started working on this character I want to add to my portfolio (planning to do a low-poly,and possibly rig it and make a couple of animations).I'm no anatomy expert, and it is what is bothering me atm,so I was wondering if you could help me out with it a bit.I'm not going for extreme realism,Sharlotte is going to be a bit stylized, but i'd like her to look somewhat decent proportion-wise.
Here's the concepts (going for the one in the middle; planning to keep working on it,want to add more unique details):
Here's the current wips for her body and her face.I know some areas look extremely terrible, but I really need to establish nice proportions first, and then worry about everything else.
Any feedback is appreciated!

Proportions are fine maybe add a little more volume to the forearm, not too much though as she is not a female bodybuilder and as this is stylized the face looks great so far so keep it up.
Will be watching this.
Thank you guys, will definitely try and add some more volume to the mentioned areas and some muscle definition! Will be posting updates on the weekend, hopefully
Cheers!
You are saying you are trying to make something somewhat realistic when it come to the proportions.
So far I just checked and your characer is basically 6 1/4 head tall.
In the case you want to go with something with kind of realistic proportions, a good thing to keep in mind is that an average person is about 7 1/2 head tall.
That is why your head currently look very big compared to the size of her body. I suggest fixing it.
The arms are also not long enough, when the arms fall nexy to the body the hand should pretty much touch a bit over half of the thigh.
Don't forget to get some good reference and always double check your proportions!
First of all, thanks for your feedback! I'm actually looking at this pic right now
and this one:
I think Sharlotte is meant to be somewhere in between 3d and 4th pic of the first one,as I want her to be 12 y.o.In any case, she's still a bit short,I do agree xD I was looking at her (Mady is 12) as my main reference.
In terms of the hands length,if you look at the 3/4 view, they're slightly bent,so they would actually be longer than it seems from the front view. But I was concerned about them, gonna check the length in maya really quickly when i get back home.
Hi PyrZern,
I'm not following the concept very precisely,I just want her to look pretty tbh.I'm getting most of my inspiration for this character from Sia's video Chandelier, the girl on that picture above is from it Also, taking some inspiration from this
and a bit of this
Thanks everyone, will try to fix the things you've mentioned )
