Directionality maps

Hey, guys. I've been rummaging through Crytek's SIGGRAPH presentations and saw that they use an in-house plugin to create some really neat directionality maps for hair. Is there any way to do similar stuff without that plugin? I think it needed to control anisotropic direction.

Yeah, you are on the right way, usually its called anisotropic specular, so you need to search about this. It is doable without that plugin by the way.
