Hey guys, hoping someone with some knowledge of hardware can help me out.
My computer is getting old and slow, time for a new one.
Trying to decide what to buy in the sea of infinite hardware options is difficult, I dont have a clue.
I read about the new haswell e processors , but you need to have the ddr4 ram...
Which is pricey, so I'd likely be stuck with 16gb, rather than 32...
Should I go that route? Or go with an older processer and more/cheaper ddr3?
For video card someone recommended the 770ti
Any insight is appreciated.
I'm mostly using maya, zbrush,Photoshop, Lightroom and after effects

I quickly put together 2 PCs yesterday, as I'm in the same situation and had the same question as you did.
I went with 6 core i7, 32gb ram and gtx970 and a decent motherboard for both.
Turns out that most of the parts are comparable price wise, and the ddr4 pc only cost about 100$ more.
That said, I didn't go with the cheapest parts, rather trying to get decent hardware for the money, so if you wanna go for a budget alternative you might be able to get away cheaper with a ddr3 rig.
The CPUs for instance, cost the same even though they are not the same generation of i7s, just because of the 6cores.
I already have a case and power supply, monitors, keyboard, mouse
32gb ram ddr4 is like around $700-1k from what ive seen
Wat.. $420 for 32GB

So i got a i7 5930k, x99 mobo, 32gb ddr ram, and gtx 970
For PSU I ordered the corsair gold 750W, will that be enough to power it all?
Thanks for the help
Edit: Also, I love being able to work in Photoshop, Substance Designer, and UE4 without having to close one of them/my computer crawling to a halt!
