Xipil: Noble of Fire movie

I'm looking some support for a new animation I'm working on called Xipil: Noble Of Fire. It's a solo project which has lasted a few years now and I've recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to try and fund it's completion.

Here's a couple of samples to hopefully whet your appetite:

Here's the Kickstarter page if you'd like to check out some videos and concept art - and please leave a donation if you like what you see! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/387722884/xipil-noble-of-fire

*Bump* Hey guys, would love some feedback!

The start is very slow; the better part of a quarter of your total video is spent watching the guys slowly tune his banjo. That might be fine in the final production, where various credits are rolling by, but seems excessive for a short promo. You have a limited time to capture the viewers' attention; don't waste it. I'd cut ~30 seconds of the start and replace it with more engaging footage; even a slideshow of a story board would be better.

Considering the importance of the moon to your story, you should spend a bit of time making it appear, well, moonish... it looks like you're going for a moon halo, which is fine - the weather is appropriate. The light rays coming from the moon, however, make it look as though it's about to explode. Be wary when using reference images; they are almost always over-exposed to highlight the halo; the halo tends to be very subtle when viewed with the naked eye.

The fisherman really doesn't seem to match the rest of the natives.

    Thanks for the reply, Dwalker.

I take your point about the intro taking too long - it's something that has been burning in my mind for some time now. I'll also see about trying different glares for the moon.

Though I haven't explained who the characters are in this thread, I go to some depth outlining who is who on the Kickstarter page and my website. The character you describe as a'fisherman' is actually a bug, he's not the same size or species as the natives.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback. There were no positives, though at least I have a vague idea why no one seems to give a toss.
