[Riot Art Contest] - Executioner Thresh

Hey there everyone! About time I start posting stuff for the contest :P I chose to do a custom skin for Thresh, one of my favorite champs, although I'm not too good at using him lol.

Here are a couple of the quick initial thumbnails



Wanted to go for more of a medieval type of feel yet very expressive of Thresh's nature. I'll keep posting more work shortly

Here is a more detailed out version of the Executioner Skin for Thresh. Might tweak a few things here and there. Thoughts? I wanted to make it look like he enjoys taking and torturing every soul, which prompts him to decorate himself in the remains of his victims (hence the skulls for shoulder armor and the bone chains for the scythe and lantern).



Also wanted to share some comps I made to decide the layout, lighting, and mood for the actual illustration. I'm leaning more towards #3 :P

Solid start! To me, his hook is a big part of who he is and a clear and defined silhouette is important. 2, 4, and 6 I think are better for that purpose. Can't wait to see more!

I might actually give it another detail pass before I submit, but I'll probably do that later in the week.

Thank you! Yeah, the armor definitely needs at least a little bit more, but as you say, I don't want to make it feel too busy. I was thinking of just tightening things up. You know how the illustrations for the champions always have that tight finish, but not necessarily overloaded with details? That's what I'm aiming for.
