2015 3dsmax Layer System

Does anyone know how to set the layer system back to the old way. I really hate the new system, especially now being able to simply click the add button to add objects to a new layer, drag and dropping is crazy if i have 20-25 objects i want to move

This kinda works like the older version, if this is what you mean:

Add the quad menu item "Add selection to current layer" to the layer explorer quad
Switch the current layer to the one you want to add objects to (click on the layer icon so it is blue)
select objects to move
right-click and select add to layer.

You can also assign this to a hotkey.

Though why is drag-n-dropping an issue? You can select multiple objects and drag them all at once

I think the "add selection to current layer" is available if you right click the layer. I've only used 2015 briefly before going back to 2014... Where the last version of outliner worked.

Its just an extra step i dont like doing lol, i miss my add button

Agreed. I like how outliner put a little plus next to the layer name, you click that and anything you had selected would be added to that layer.



So simple, so fast, so compact, so straightforward. Too bad Scene Explore killed it's development...
